The transport and logistics industry is becoming increasingly complex and is constantly looking for new solutions to simplify the value chain and provide better services to its customers. Research and development, digital innovation, capillarity, international presence and environmentally friendly solutions are just some of the prerequisites to remain competitive and are only possible through cooperation among like-minded partners.
It is in this spirit that GRUBER Logistics has acquired Combitras, a historically grown company with over 30 years of experience in part loads and integrated logistics and one of the most important players in Emilia Romagna, one of the economically strongest regions in Italy.
Even in these economically trying times, GRUBER Logistics continues to work on the implementation of its corporate strategy and expands the group’s network across Europe. With 35 branches in 10 countries and over 1100 employees, the group is now one of the most important players in the industry.
For the Italian company, the purchase represents a significant upgrade in one of the most important economic regions in Italy and throughout Europe, not only thanks to the two new branches in Cesena and Bologna, but also thanks to the Combitras team, which will continue to be managed by the current Managing Director of Combitras Massimo Bagnoli.
Marcello Corazzola, Managing Director of GRUBER Logistics, underlines that the company had been considering investing in Emilia Romagna for some time: “We have now met people who share our vision and our values. This ultimately led us to take over an existing company, rather than creating a subsidiary from scratch. Today, as a company, we are present throughout Italy and can rely on a Europe-wide network for the benefit of our customers.”
A vision of internationalization and development that Martin Gruber, at the head of the eponymous group in the third generation, fully shares with Massimo Bagnoli and his team.
Even in this difficult economic situation, we are seeing signs of recovery when internationally active corporate groups manage to work together with highly specialized local players on a shared vision of the future.
